100% equivalent to chest strap measurement

I spent 30 days taking measurements with this app and a chest strap as well as finger sensor, and the camera method was completely consistent. This makes this app superior since the measurement device is contained within the phone. Furthermore the insights provided are much better than similar apps. Nice work!

Best HRV app

Best HRV app out there. Tons of functionality and updated very frequently. The only thing missing is the Coca pulse test, otherwise it’s perfect. Orthostatic test doesn’t show countdown timer when doing the standing portion. Only bug that I’ve found.

Great App, and well supported for improvements.

This is an amazingly thorough and functional App for the money. I used it with both the camera and a Polar H7. While the camera was pretty good, I feel more comfortable wearing the strap for checking HRV as it is probably more accurate in terms of consistency of measurement. Marco the developer is very responsive on email and receptive to suggestions for improvement. I believe my training and recovery has improved greatly from using this app in conjunction with how I am feeling.

Fascinating app

Im only a month in, but so far the app has performed perfectly and Im really looking forward to to the insights as the data accumulates. The developer seems very passionate about the ongoing research (see the blog) and I expect the app to receive continuous improvement as the science matures.

Best HRV app!

Best HRV app on iTunes. Developer is really fast with updates and continues to improve the app. Keep up the great work!

Better every update

Developers have been really working to make this app better. Its much more usable and using the camera seems to be more reliable.

Great until update?

This app was working well. The last two mornings Ive taken readings and they are not saving. Please fix asap! I dont want to delete and reinstall; would lose my three months of data?!?

Consistent results with continual

Updates and improvements

Constant updates to this HRV technology

I use several HRV apps and this bundle is one of my favorites. The developer continues to update the app and write detailed, expert-level blogs on HRV. HRV4Training is great for a quick, daily tracking routine, HRV Logger is the absolute best out there for long term tracking of activities where getting detailed, time-stamped data over a longer period of time is needed. Camera HRV is perfect when a heart rate strap is not convenient. These three apps fill the need for a variety of tracking situations. The ease of exporting the data, and the COMPLETENESS of the data is the best I have found. Worth every bit of it’s price. My rMSSD goes up just thinking about them :)

Strongly recommend

Excellent app. Hrv4training is a great objective tool to help me quantify my intensity and recovery as it pertains to my training schedule. This has given me a new perspective on how to train/recover to push the envelope on reaching/overreaching.

Fantastic, Insightful, beautiful

This is by far one of the best HRV apps out there. I used EliteHRV for a while before switching over, and I haven’t looked back. HRV4Training offers the most informative data for geeking out on your biometrics, from identifying positive/negative trends in your training to correlations between your variables and certain lifestyle tags. Getting my daily HRV score has allowed me to know when my body is best primed to maximize recovery or step on the gas during my training sessions. Most important, my overall health has increased and I take comfort in knowing that I am training for longevity rather than unnecessarily overtraining and setting myself up for future health problems.

Best HRV APP

If you are an athlete interested in data and quantified self geekery- get this app! Frequent upgrades and great support Read the developers blog (Marco Altini) for a deep dive into the physiology behind the numbers. Tried a few others previously... Not in the same league

This app is fantastic for tracking training

I use this app every day when Im training progressively for a race. Im a runner, but I also incorporate a lot of strength training and plyometrics into my workout routine. I have a tendency to push hard every day, erring on the side of overtraining at times. Tracking my heart rate variability with this app helps me realize when I need to take it easy or take a rest day. Without this app, I might just push myself through a workout without paying attention to my level of fatigue or soreness. This app really helps me to stay mindful of the stress I put on my body so that I can keep myself going! The look and feel is very user-friendly, and the way HRV is measured by placing your finger over the camera works great for me. Perfectly suitable compared to a pricier device to measure HRV.

Incredibly helpful addition to a healthy lifestyle

Started using this app about 7 months ago to track my stress levels and help me be more aware of my susceptibility to PTSD episodes. It provided great insight into my HR and Recovery. Since then Ive been overjoyed that it continued to evolve and integrate into some of my other favorite apps such as Apple Health and most importantly SportTracks. I can honestly say its one of the 10 apps I dont ever want to be without.

Awesome Training Tool - Keeps Getting Better

I heard about HRV measurements for monitoring training and fatigue and looked at a few apps. HRV4Training is clearly the best: 1) It doesn’t require (but does allow) use of a HR monitor strap. I can use my finger on the camera. 2) It offers raw numbers if you want them, but by default gives a composite “recovery points” number and advice on trends. 3) It keeps getting better. This version adds a new semi-automated sleep tracker, which is very cool. 4) It integrates into Strava, TrainingPeaks and other services 5) You can export all your data by Dropbox or e-mail, so you’re not “trapped” What else can I say.. well worth the purchase if you’re serious about training.

Best in class

Outstanding app for tracking HRV and training. Clean, uncluttered interface, continues to delight as Marco adds features and mines data to give new insights. I’ve been through numerous other HRV apps - this one is head and shoulders above the rest. Great blog resources and website. Superbly crafted app, highly recommended.

HRV4 Training Review

Recently started using this app and I have found some incredible information to help me in my training! The response to Facebook questions and inquiries are replied to faster than anything I have ever done on FB! Replies generally take a short few minutes! Amazing to me. The integration of HRV4 Training to Garmin Connect, Strava, and SportTracks is seamless! Blogs, q/as, FAQs, documentation and tutorials are icing on the cake. You can tell the folks at HRV4 Training know their stuff and love it. Marco Altini, PhD and all around genius is kind and patient in helping newbies to the app like me. Very impressive! Thanks for helping me learn more insight about not only myself but also my training approach.

Great app for athletes

This app would be worth the money just for all the geeky data. For anyone who is even remotely interested in using physiological metrics in their training, this is another great tool. The app is easy to use and seems just as accurate as my heart rate strap for HR and HRV data. There are TONS of articles on the blog about HRV and training. The app is updated often and the developer is extremely responsive. The only negative is that this might be TMI for casual athletes. But that is probably not a negative for the type of users that would get this app. Unqualified 5 stars.

Last update castrated app

I really like the app. I use it almost every morning. The last update will not connect to my Polar heart rate monitor nor the phone camera. My Stressed Out app connects to both. The Facebook forum is probably ok, however I dont have Facebook and I see no other way to report a problem. That in itself is a problem, undetected until I needed support. Updates are frequent, so hopefully this problem is corrected soon and I can use the app again.
